Microchip Before Vaccination

Rabies Vaccination

Rabies Titer Test — High-Risk Origins Only
Required only if the pet is travelling from a country the EU classifies as a high-risk rabies country. The blood sample must be taken at least 30 days after vaccination, tested at an EU-approved laboratory, with a result of at least 0.5 IU/ml. The pet must then wait 3 months from the sample date before travelling — though this 3-month wait doesn’t apply if the sample was taken in an EU country (or certain associated territories) and there’s been no break in vaccination since. A valid blood test result remains valid for the animal’s life as long as rabies vaccination is never interrupted.
Anti-Echinococcus (Tapeworm) Treatment — Dogs Only
Dogs must be treated between 120 and 24 hours before arrival in Ireland or the EU, whichever comes first. For commercial moves, the deadline is no later than 48 hours before arrival. This timing window is strict — outside it, the treatment won’t be accepted.
EU Health Certificate
